Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent to matching websites. Local storage stays in your browser until cleared. We use both for the purposes below; we do not require optional analytics to read articles.
What this site stores
- Theme: the local storage value
themeremembers your display preference until you clear it or change it. - Language:
cmb_language_v2remembers a language you select. Agoogtranscookie supports Google translation when requested. The preference remains until cleared or changed; the translation cookie is a session cookie. Privacy and cookie policy pages stay in their original English text. - Privacy choice:
cmb-analytics-consent-v1stores whether you allowed optional analytics and when. We ask again after 180 days. Deleting browser storage removes that choice. - Optional Google Analytics: when configured and allowed, Google may set cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*to distinguish browsers and sessions. These commonly expire after up to two years, depending on Google and account settings, and can be renewed by later visits.
Change or withdraw your choice
Open to allow or reject analytics. Rejection keeps the analytics script off. Withdrawing consent disables tracking, removes accessible first-party Analytics cookies, and reloads the page if Analytics was already running. It does not delete historical data held by Google.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals keep analytics off. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser. Blocking storage may prevent us from remembering your preferences; the site remains readable.
Advertising and third-party services
Advertising scripts are not enabled in this version of the site. These analytics preferences are not an advertising consent form. Before advertising is enabled, the site will need the appropriate advertising disclosures and consent controls.
Google translation loads only when a non-English language is requested. Google's use of information is described in its Privacy Policy. Choosing English restores the original page.
